DLR Group
Elevate the human experience through design.
“A Veteran-Friendly Company”
DLR Group was founded in 1966 by three military veterans. Today, we employ both active duty and veteran U.S. Armed Forces members. Many of these individuals are part of the Society of American Military Engineers, including Principal and Federal Programs Leader Mike Huffstetler, LEED AP, SAME. Here’s his outlook on being at DLR Group as a veteran.
A Place for Veterans
Our work with the Federal government covers a variety of services for our country’s veterans. Working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, we design VA outpatient clinics informed by its “I Care” mission. In Washington, D.C., the John & Jill Ker Conway Residence offers permanent supportive housing to address chronic homelessness. Explore more of this work on our website.
About Us
DLR Group is an integrated design firm and is 100% employee-owned with all stock held within an employee stock ownership plan, or an ESOP. Employee-ownership has been part of our corporate structure since 1978.
We foster a culture that incentivizes collaboration. Driven by opportunity, we make decisions that impact not only our success but also our clients and partners. All of which are rooted in our core values of commitment, sharing, fun, creativity, environmental stewardship, integrity, ownership, and teamwork.
Testimonial
“I got into this job not knowing anything. It’s one of those jobs where you learn best by working on the job. So, thanks to DLR Group for giving me the opportunity to learn so early, it’s already paid off with my education,” says Design Intern Erick Garcia. Walking parallel paths as a Combat Engineer in the National Guard and an aspiring designer with DLR Group, Erick sees a harmony between his duty and passion.
